Our beautiful tortoise Tootsie was adopted on March 27, 2009.  An apartment tenant got evicted and just left their pet tortoise there with no food, water, or heat.  A kind-hearted woman found her and rescued her but wasn't sure exactly how to care for her.  Tootsie was then given to us so we could give her a proper home.  She is spunky and can be very demanding, especially when it comes to her food.  Tootsie can actually polish off an entire plate of salad every day, and she's only about five inches long!
